Question

Transactions from 25 Sep through 28 Oct didn't upload to my QBO bank account, I downloaded them from my bank into a QBO file. How do I upload them to QBO?

It's my pleasure guiding you through the steps about uploading bank transactions to QuickBooks Online, lnzucker.

Open and review the file from your bank. Make sure it's in the correct format before you upload it. And, you also need to know the date of the oldest existing transaction currently in the account to avoid entering duplicates. Then, follow the steps I've outlined below to bring in the QBO file.

  1. Go to Bookkeeping, choose Transactions, then select Bank transactions.
  2. Select the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
  3. Click the Link account drop-down and then Upload from file.
  4. Drag and drop or select files and choose the file you downloaded from your bank, then Continue.
  5. In the QuickBooks account ▼ drop-down, select the account you want to upload the transactions into, then Continue.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks, then Continue.
  7. Select the transactions you would like to import, then Continue.
  8. Click Yes.
  9. When you accept your transactions, select Done.

If you see an error message, here's how to fix it while uploading bank transactions to QuickBooks.

Now that your transactions are in QuickBooks, it's time to match and categorize them. The transactions go into your accounts after reviewing them.

You can always get back to me whenever you have additional questions about importing bank transactions. I'll be right here to help you. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
