QuickBooks Online (QBO) depends on the bank information that the financial institution, Tim. I'll help you acquire those transactions to make them available in your company file for easy tracking.
Please note that depending on the bank you're using, they can provide 30 to 90 days' worth of transactions. Since you're trying to download transactions from the previous year, the system can't add them to your company file through the download option. In this situation, you can contact your financial firm to get a copy downloaded using the correct file format that QBO accepts. However, if they can't provide a CSV format, consider looking for a file converter that can modify the PDF statements you have. Once done, proceed to upload the CSV file to your QBO company. These are the steps:
- Go to Bank transactions and select the tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
- Select the Link account ▼ dropdown, then select Upload from file.
- Click the Drag and drop or select files and select the file you downloaded from your bank. Then, select Continue.
- In the QuickBooks account▼ dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then, select Continue.
- Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then click Continue.
- Select the transactions you like to import. You'll then select Continue and then click Yes.
- When you're ready, click Done.
