Hello there,

I understand the convenience of using credit card in QuickBooks Online. I'd be happy to share some troubleshooting steps we can perform to fix the invalid routing number.

I’d like to know more about the credit in question. May I know what bank institution you’re using? This will help me verify if there’s a reported issue about the routing number specific to your bank.

To get to the bottom of it, you’ll want to reach out to your bank to verify if they’re performing any system maintenance update. Let’s log in to your bank’s website to check for any notifications that needs your attention.

If everything looks good on your bank’s website, let’s use a private browser to access your QuickBooks account. This doesn't retain local files or cache so this helps in ruling out the possibility of a webpage issue. Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using.

  • For Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N

Once done, re-enter your routing number and confirm if it’s the right one. If this works, you’ll need to clear your browser’s cache and cookies to remove the built-up history. This way, you can start with a clean slate. You can also switch to other browsers as alternatives.

In the meantime, you’ll want to consider manually importing the bank transactions into QuickBooks. If you’ll have duplicate transactions moving forward, you can exclude them.

If you're getting an error, you can check this reference for the lists of possible solutions you can perform: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online?

Please keep in touch if there's anything else I can do to help you succeed with QuickBooks. I've got your back. Have a great day and be safe.
