Question

Unable to Order Checks for QB Online from Costco

I'm attempting to order QB checks from Costco.com, and the QB Checking account routing number provided in QB does not work.
According to Harland, Costco's check provider, this # is not valid for paper checks. I spent an hour on the phone with ProAdvisor support yesterday without success. When they finally transferred me over to Green Dot Bank, who provided a different routing number, it turns out that the new number is not even searchable in Harlands database. The Green Dot rep told me that the routing number visible in QB is in fact a "Merchant Number", not a routing number.

As of today, I have still been unable to order checks from Costco for my QB checking account... and would appreciate any guidance that anyone in QB Community can provide...

Thank you!!!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, EdinFl. Let me share some information with the QuickBooks checking account.

Currently, you cannot write checks from the QuickBooks Checking account. However, if you have another bank account connected to QuickBooks Online, you can purchase checks via Intuit Market, which is supported by the system.

Once approved for your QuickBooks account through QuickBooks Money, you will receive a debit card within 7-10 business days, which you can use to withdraw money.

I suggest that to reach out to our partners at Greendot to find any suggestions or alternative solutions for this.

I'll share the link using the mobile check deposit with QuickBooks Online to give you more information about this feature.

Let me share some articles that can help you manage your bank connection:

If you still have other questions regarding your checking account, you can always reply on the thread or create a new one. Have a great day!

I’ve been having the same problem. Based on your information, I’ll just close my quickbooks checking account and set up an account with a local bank. It is ridiculous that a ‘checking account’ can’t be used for physical checks.
