Undeposited Funds as of Date

Hi, for QBD I am trying to see what transactions make up my undeposited funds account as of a certain date. I can see all of the transactions moving through it but I'm trying to get just a list of the payments that were still there on that date that made up the balance. Essentially, I'm looking for a list similar to the one when you go to select the payments to deposit. Thanks!

Hey @AnthonyC1, seeing your first post here in the Community is awesome. I’m excited to guide you in generating lists of payment transactions from an Undeposited Funds account for a specific date.

 

We can generate the Custom Transaction Detail Report to reflect the lists of payments that are still in the Undeposited Funds as of a certain date. Feel free to follow the steps below:

 

  1. Go to the Reports tab and select Custom Reports. Then, pick Transaction Detail.
  2. After that, hover your mouse to Customize Report.
  3. Select the date range you want to show in the report by clicking the Dates dropdown from the Display section.
  4. From the Filters section, click the FILTER column and select Account. Then, go to the search field beside and enter Undeposited Funds.
  5. Once done, click OK to display all the customization you did.

Hi, Thank you for the assistance. It does bring up a list of all the transactions for the account on that date but not which ones were still waiting to be deposited which may have been added to there on a previous day. Is there a way to narrow it down to just see what transactions had not been marked for deposit yet on that day?

    I'm delighted to see you again in this thread, AnthonyC1. I'll address this issue by providing additional steps to narrow the undeposited transaction in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

     

    We'll generate the same report suggested by my colleague above and perform the additional steps below:

     

    1. Go to the Reports tab and choose Custom Reports. Then, pick Transaction Detail.
    2. After that, glide your mouse to Customize Report.
    3. Choose the date range you want to show in the report by clicking the Dates dropdown from the Display section.
    4. From the Filters section, click the FILTER column and select Account. Then, go to the search field beside and choose the For Details Account Matching bullet.
    5. Choose the Undeposited Funds.
    6. Once done, click OK.

     

    Also, please ensure to set the date to the specific date you require for your transaction or activity.

     

    Additionally, you can save your reporting adjustments for future use. It makes it easier to review your transactions in a way that fits your style: Create, access, and modify memorized reports.

    There's no way to do that with the internal QuickBooks reporting feature. It doesn't have the ability to roll back the clock, as it were, to show what was undeposited at a point in time in the past.
