Unlinking Payments Account

I cancelled my QuickBooks Self-Employed subscription over a year ago. Today, I just received this email (screenshot attached) titled "Your payments account is approved - get started now". I'm very unsettled by this, as I've recently been dealing with fraud on a separate (unrelated) credit account. 

 

I had linked a checking account to QuickBooks Self-Employed (for receiving payments from clients), and I'm now realizing that even though I cancelled my subscription, that does not unlink my bank account from QBSE. How would I go about this?

 

Should I be concerned about this email that I received, or is Intuit just trying to regain my business?

I'll help you can unlink your payments account, lydian91.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Sign in to the Merchant Service Center as an admin user.
  2. Select the Account tab and then Account Profile.
  3. Select Close Account. If you don't see this option, make sure you're signed in as the account admin. 
  4. In the Reason for closing dropdown, select a reason,  and add any comments you'd like to share.
  5. When you're ready, select Submit.

Hi, thanks for your help. Unfortunately, I can't close my account because it wants to send a confirmation code using an old phone number that is no longer in service. When I try to edit my phone number, it gives me the same prompt to confirm the change (using my old number).

By the way, I can see that your QBSE account has already been canceled. You'll want to export the data and reports that you might need in the future.
