Unmatching Transaction from Deleted Bank, complicated with Bill Pay

I have a transaction that was incorrectly matched to a now-deleted bank account. To make matters worse, it was also paid with Bill Pay, a feature I've since canceled. I cannot seem to unmatch that old transaction. I've tried reconnecting the account, but that particular transaction is no longer showing in the register. How can I remedy this?

I can help you find the transaction in the bank register, @change default tax rate.

When you have a deleted bank account and you reconnect them, transactions that are needed to be reviewed will appear in the For Review tab.

And the matched transactions appear in the Categorized tab in the Banking window where you can Undo the match.

Here's how:

  1. On the left pane, select Banking
  2. At the top left, select the Banking tab.
  3. In the Bank and Credit Cards section, select the bank.
  4. Click the In QuickBooks tab.
  5. Find the transaction and select Undo under the Action column.

In your case, since the transaction is no longer showing in the Bank register, I'd recommend manually uploading the transactions into QuickBooks Online.

You can follow these steps:

  1. Get the transaction from your bank and then follow the bank's instructions for how to download CSV files that contain the transaction. Then save the file somewhere you can easily see it like desktop.
  2.  Review the file format and size to see if it is in the correct composition.
  3. Once done, manually upload the transactions:
*For accounts connected to online banking.
*For accounts not connected to online banking
  4. Then match the transaction to the records in QuickBooks.

I've also added articles about balancing accounts, accessing financial reports, and other relevant topics.
