Want to change from quickbooks online to desktop. What desktop version do i need in order to import data

Here’s how to start converting:

 

  1. Login to your QuickBooks Online account and click the Gear Icon.

  4. In the Exporting from QuickBooks Online page, select Continue to Download.
  5. Then, follow the rest of the on-screen instructions to complete the exporting process.

    Which QB Online region do you have? If you are not sure, login as Primary Admin and navigate to your Billing & subscription menu. What is your monthly bill??

    Yesterday we help our client to migrate data and restore the backup file on QB Desktop 2020. You can still purchase a one time license of QB Desktop 2021 or 2020 at a lower price to save money.

    I don't always have internet service and would like to be able to email and print invoices if I need too. What do I need to do to change this. I pay for QuickBooks online.

    Once I export the data from online to desktop will I still have access to the data in the online version?

    I just tried importing to QB Desktop 2019 Pro and got an error message saying this version is not supported.  So what minimum version is supported?

        Hi -

        QBO Tech/support could not provide us the data file to transfer to QB Premier and recommended to use a 3rd party vendor https://www.exportmybooks.com/ to do it.  Has anyone encountered similar issue?

        In QuickBooks Online (QBO), your data is hosted securely on our systems in an active/passive configuration in multiple regions across the US region. Though we're unable to provide your  QBO data, as long as your QBO subscription is active, you'll be able to migrate it to QuickBooks Desktop without a third-party application.

         

        You'll want to make sure to download and install QuickBooks on your computer. Then sign in to QBO and download the migration tool. Once done, start preparing the file for export and select your data in QBO.         Thank you Maria. We followed all those steps and still  Data Services Tech was not able to convert our file and recommended the 3rd party vendor

        https://www.exportmybooks.com/  Have you used this vendor? Are they reliable.  Do you have another recommendation on how we should proceed? Appreciate your input!

        AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! I migrated a couple of weeks ago to see if I would like QB online. I don't. It is too slow and cumbersome, and not intuitive. So, I decided to go back to the desktop. I migrated all of my On-Line data to QuickBooks Desktop, and OMG! None of my bank accounts are reconciled, going all the way back to 2017 in one of my accounts. QuickBooks' answer to this is to go back and reconcile your accounts one year at a time. Are you kidding me?! My "trial" period is about to expire, and now I am stuck. I think the best thing I can do is re-enter everything I have entered in my desktop app this past couple of weeks. I will not allow Intuit to enslave me into using their online application.
