Question

We are using QB Desktop 2019 for AP and online for everything else. Is there a function that allows me to import my AP detail into online?

We have an outsource AR provider and an in house AP clerk. We don't want to duplicate her work.

Hello, walter-morley-pr.

Yes, you can import AP details into QBO by using a third-party application. This is because the built-in import utility is only available in other regions.

We treat all businesses fairly, so I’m unable to recommend which one to use. However, I can help run a search for you.

Let’s go to the AppCenter and enter a keyword in the search field to expedite the process. You can also go to the Categories section to view the list of available apps per type. From the list select the one that meets your business needs.

For additional resources, the following guide covers all the details on the information you can bring into QBO. It also contains answers to frequently asked questions: Common questions about importing data

I'm just a comment away if you need anything else. Enjoy the rest of your day, walter-morley-pr.

You can utilize TPExporter for your AP clerk on her QB Desktop and TPImporter for Online for your QB Online users.

Another option, replace your QB Desktop with a cloud-based accounting application other than QBO. You will find a few apps to choose with the free starter plan and only utilize the billing feature. Then you will use this app to connect both apps. Every time your clerk post the bill, it will duplicate the data on your QBO automatically. You don't need to migrate any data manually.
