Question

We use the quickbooks checking and have the instant deposit set up. But Quickbooks is taking processing fees from our regular checking account. How do I change that?

Thank you for visiting the Community today, banking@electron.

I understand how important it is for your company to record transactions to the correct bank account. This allows you to easily track them. Let me help and guide you in changing the account for your processing fees.

When you process credit card and ACH payments with QuickBooks Payments, the funds are transferred to the external bank account you specify. It is simple to change the account in QuickBooks Online.

Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon in QuickBooks and select Account and settings under Your Company.
  2. Go to the Deposit accounts section of the Payments tab and click the Change link to open the Connect your bank account to receive payments screen.
  3. Edit your instant deposit information from there.
Note: If you switch from your personal debit card to your QuickBooks Cash debit card, select the 0% fee option.
  4. Choose Save and then Done.

Next, navigate to the Chart of Accounts section and select the bank account for which you want to record the processing fees. Here's a step-by-step guide: Choose where to record payments and processing fees for QuickBooks Payments.

I've added this resource with more information on QuickBooks Checking. It addresses frequently asked questions about the feature, such as processing fees and the sign-up process, to name a few.

Additionally, this reference will also show you how to deposit and withdraw funds from your QuickBooks Checking account.

If you have any additional QuickBooks Checking account concerns or questions about payments, please leave a comment below. I'd be delighted to respond.
