Question

What do I do with a closed bank account I no longer have online access to? Quick books keeps telling me to tryagain. I don't want to delete all data from that account

Since the account is closed, it will never connect - how do I deal with this without deleting everything from this account in the past?

Good day, @staceymclarty-ya.

I'm happy to see you here! Welcome to the Community. I've got the steps you need to disconnect your account in QuickBooks Self-Employed. It only takes a few steps.

You can turn off your account from your settings to stop QuickBooks from downloading new transactions and keep the existing data.

Here's how:

  1. Open QBSE in a web browser.
  2. Select the Gear icon and then Bank Accounts.
  3. Find the account you want to hide.
  4. In the Show Account section, select the toggle to OFF

Doing these steps will hide your transactions. To view them, make it active again by turning it on.

Additionally, you may export your data to Excel to keep a copy of it. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Transactions.
  2. Change the type to All and select the account.
  3. Set the date to All.
  4. Click the Export icon and save the file on your computer.

Let me know in the comment section on how these steps work out and if you need further assistance managing your entries. I'll be on hand to help. Wishing you a good one!
