Question

When I set up my accounts initially, I did not see the time frame, ie: 2021. It is pulling in 2022 transactions. How do I update to bring in 2021?

 Hello, Kelly.

I take it that these transactions are from the connected bank account in QuickBooks. I'd like to give additional information about how the system downloads your transactions, and how you can bring in those 2021 records.

QuickBooks pulls data from your bank within the last 90 days. Though, some bank connections may have a different time frame in getting those transactions.

One way to bring in those 2021 transactions is to upload them manually using an Excel file.

Simply download a CSV file for the 2021 transactions from your bank's website. Then, upload the file in QuickBooks:

  1. Go to the Banking page.
  2. Click the arrow icon beside the Link account button.
  3. Select Upload from file.
  4. Browse for the downloaded CSV file and proceed with the upload.

More details can also be found here: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

When you're done uploading those 2021 transactions, you can start categorizing them in QuickBooks. If you're ready, you also have the option to start your regular reconciliation process.
