Question

When I try to upload a receipt by either drag-and-drop or browse, the program stalls with a spinning circle and nothing else happens. How do I fix this?

I'm using Self-Employed QuickBooks on Safari with a MacBook Pro.

I can see how frustrating it is to have this functionality not working on your end. That said, let me share some troubleshooting steps that will help address the spinning circle issue, dakotaoriole.

Sometimes too much caches stored in a browser can cause unexpected behavior with the product. This might be the reason why it takes time to load the Expense window.

To clear this out, let's access your account in a private window. This is a special mode that can help us isolate the problem and fix it. Simply press the following shortcut keys to open it:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

If you're able to upload the receipt without the loading issues, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache.  If you're still getting the same result, use another supported browser. This could be a temporary issue with QuickBooks and the current browser that you use.
