Question

Where do find the bank statements for the interest bearing QuickBooks Cash/Checking account so I’m able to reconcile like a “regular” bank account?

I’m seeing posts for the cash flow tab but don’t see any option to view statements there. Not looking for QuickBooks payments statements.

I appreciate you for reaching out to us here in the Community, James. It's my pleasure to guide you on how to find your bank statements so you can reconcile your transactions.

Once you sign up for QuickBooks Payments in QuickBooks Online to track your cash flow, you also sign up for a QuickBooks Checking account. And, you need to connect your checking or real-life account to match your cash flow entries. From there, your entries will be downloaded to QuickBooks automatically. After reviewing the transactions, you can proceed with your reconciliation to match your statements.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then click on Reconcile. If you're reconciling for the very first time, select Get started to continue.
  3. From the Account ▼ dropdown, select the account you want to reconcile. Make sure it's the same one on your statement.
  4. Review the Beginning balance. Make sure the beginning balance in QuickBooks matches the one on your statement. Here's what to do if they don't match.
  5. Enter the Ending balance and Ending date on your statement. Some banks call the ending balance a "new balance" or a "closing balance".
  6. Enter the Ending balance and Ending date on your statement. Some banks call the ending balance a "new balance" or a "closing balance".
  7. When you're ready to start, select Start reconciling.

Just in case you encounter issues while matching your statements, check out the instructions from this article for troubleshooting steps: Fix issues at the end of reconciliation in QuickBooks Online.
