I appreciate your immediate response, @grossepointe-mat.
Let's import your chart of accounts from a spreadsheet so you can have your Mathnasium accounts added to QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Although you already have transactions in QBO, you can still import your chart of accounts. However, you're unable to do that directly from Mathnasium. You'll have to use a spreadsheet in Excel, Google Sheets, or a CSV file to successfully perform the process.
To do this, you'll first have to format your spreadsheet. Here's how:
- Open your existing spreadsheet of accounts or create a new one.
- Make sure you have these columns in your spreadsheet: Account Name, Type, Detail Type, and Number.
- If you organize your accounts by number, add an Account Number column. Or skip this if you don’t use account numbers.
- If you have a sub-account, add it in the Account Name column in this format: Main account: sub-account. For example, Utilities: Gas.
- If it looks correct, save your spreadsheet in Google Sheets, Excel, or CSV format.
Once you're done, upload your spreadsheet to QBO. For the step-by-step guide, please see this article starting with Step 2: Import your chart of accounts to QuickBooks Online.
The next thing you'll have to do is to download your account transactions. You can connect your bank or credit card accounts to QBO, so the system downloads and categorize them for you. All you have to do is review and approve them.
