Hello there, @Majestic Stone. Let me share insights on deposits withheld in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To ensure security, payments accepted in QBO will be review. It benefits everyone involved in the payment process. If payments seem extended than usual, they may not be on hold. For new QuickBooks Payments users, the first few payments take longer to process while we set everything up.

Here's what you can do while your deposits are on hold in QBO:

Step 1 is to see payments on hold.

Sign in to the Merchant Service Center to check customer payment status. If you still see "Withheld" in the Method column, payment is still on review and checking. If there's an issue, you'll receive an email about it.

Step 2 is to check your email.

We'll let you know if payment is ever on hold. You'll receive an email at the email address you used in signing in to the Merchant Service Center.

If you received an email, read it carefully. It has specific steps for fixing the issue. Follow the in the email. Once done, we will complete the review within two business days and finish the payment process. To know more about the deposits withheld, you can check this article for further knowledge: Why are my funds on hold?

On the other hand, you may scan this link as a guide when moving funds within two accounts in QBO: Transfer funds between accounts

Let me know if you have more questions about deposits withheld inside QBO. I'm always ready to assist. Have a great day!

After 3 years of being with QB my deposits are being held and I am going into the busiest time of the season for me. I have NEVER received an email, and of course you can't contact anyone on the weekends.  They say that more information is needed (in the merchant center), but I have no way to rectify it or talk to someone.  This is ridiculous. I would have stayed with my local processor.

@Majestic Stone   The REAL answer is that Intuit/ QB holds your money to MAKE money off of it.  They collect interest.  The longer they "hold" it, the more interest they collect off it.

It's all very deceiving and shady.

My deposits have been withheld now for almost a month. I finally spoke to someone yesterday an she said they were being released now but today when I check the latest deposit has been added to being withheld. What did you do to get yours released.  I have used qb self employed for almost 4yrs never had a issue. Upgraded to qb simple start last month an have yet to see a deposit clear an not be withheld

I take no pleasure in hearing about the situation you’re facing with payment processing, @MI248. I know this can be challenging, especially during your busy season. I've got the details you need to get you back on track.

Since you haven’t received any confirmation from Intuit, please check your spam and junk folders to see if it ended up there. If you still can’t find it, you may need to unblock or add the following email addresses as "safe senders" in your email account. This will help ensure future communications from Intuit come through without issues:

You can add these addresses to your address book or safe sender list. If you need detailed instructions, most email providers have guidance available on their websites.

Additionally, you can connect with our Payment Support team, who have the tools to access your account and check on this further in a secure environment. They are available Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 6 PM PT.

Here’s how to reach them:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Click (?) Help.
  3. Select Contact Us, then choose a topic to connect with our product expert.

You can also check out this helpful resource to learn more about when customer payments get deposited: Find out when QuickBooks Payments deposits customer payments.

I'm always here if you have any other questions about payment concerns or if there's anything else I can help you with. Stay safe.
