Hello, carrados.

I appreciate you for reaching out to us here in the Community. I'm here to share some information about credit or income transactions

To start with, credit or income transactions will show up in green as positive transactions since they sign as receivables from your customers. When you categorize them as you normally do, these transactions will show up as income in your Profit and Loss report.

Here's how to categorize income transactions:

  1. Click Transactions menu.
  2. Find a transaction on the list.
  3. Hit Business if the transaction was for business, or select Personal for personal. If the transaction was both, tap Split.
  4. Review the category in the Category column. QuickBooks tries to categorize transactions for you.
  5. If you need to change the category, click the category link. choose a general type, and select a more detailed category.
  6. Once done, hit Save.

You can check this article for information about categorizing income or expense: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Additionally, you can also check for the content of this helpful article so you can easily handle duplicate transactions once you reviewed them: Learn what to do if you see duplicate transactions from your connected bank and credit card accounts.

I did ALL of this that you are suggesting. I re-categorized some of the hundreds of 'green' items even though I have no idea why they are showing up in green when they were a charge/expense and not a credit of any sort. Half show up in black and half in green. Ridiculous. Now I pulled the profit and loss statement and all that I changed that were in green and made them expenses instead are not even showing up as expenses! I can't believe this. I can't get through to a live person either. I have been trying for days on the 'assistant' and 'help' buttons. Taxes are due in a few days and I've been spending days on this for multiple hours and getting no where! I may need to delete my account and completely start over. I need a call asap please. Thank you.

I appreciate you for getting back to us and trying all the suggestions, @carrados.

QuickBooks always depends on your bank on what transactions they'll download. Since you've verified and confirmed the valid charges with your bank statements, we can perform some basic troubleshooting steps.

Step 1: Use an incognito window:

This prevents your browser from storing additional cache files that maybe cause it's showing green and messing up the Profit and Loss statement. It's a way to check issues caused by a full cache.

Step 2: Delete cache and temporary internet files:

If it works, you can clear cache and temporary internet files to optimize the browser's performance. It will also help delete the information stored in the cache. Another way is to use compatible browsers.

Also, our live support is available M-F 6 AM to 6 PM and Saturday 6 AM to 3 PM PT. Make sure you get in touch with them during their available hours, here's how to get started:

  1. Click the Assistant button at the top.
  2. Type Talk to a human.
  3. Select your preferred support method: Message an agent (Live chat), Call an agent or Get a callback.

You can also use your iOS device to connect with one of our live support. Please check out this article for additional details: Contact QuickBooks Self-Employed Support.

If you're unable to log in to your account, you can use our test drive instead. Then, follow the steps above to connect with our support.

We're always here if you have further concerns. Take care and stay safe always, carrados.

Did you manage to fix this? I’m having the same problem. Driving me insane !!

Did you folks resolve this issue? I'm seeing multiple business credit card charges that I've already approved now showing up as credits. All are on the same AmEx/Amazon Business Prime card. There's nothing in my credit card statement that suggests any credit was issued for these charges. Why is QBO showing these as credits when each of them already appears as an expense in QBO in prior weeks?

Thanks for laying out the details of your concern, @dcv.

The syncing of bank transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) will depend on your bank. Thus, I suggest reaching out to your financial institution first to see if there are any ongoing problems with syncing your transactions to QBO.

However, if you have verified with your bank that there are no issues on their end, I recommend reaching out to our Technical Support Team. They have the tools to check your account securely and perform a screen-sharing session to investigate this behavior further.

Moreover, you can visit this article and jump to Step 4: Fix specific bank errors in this article if you see a specific bank error message: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Once everything's good with your transactions, you can visit these resources that will help you to speed up the review process of your online bank transactions:
