Why did all the cleared transactions in my bank account no longer show the C in cleared column making these transactions not show up while reconciling account?

While trying to reconcile bank account most of the transactions did not show up. In the bank account the C in the cleared column have been erased. Is there a way to return the C to these cleared transactions without doing it one at a time? Why did this happen in the first place? The entire year's transactions are no longer visible in the reconciling section.

The cleared status should show in your bank register, windyridge. Let's do some troubleshooting steps to fix this unusual behavior so you can start reconciling your accounts in QuickBooks.

Let’s use a private browser to access your QuickBooks account. This doesn't retain local files, so this helps in ruling out the possibility of a webpage issue.

Here are the shortcut keys:

  • For Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N

Then, log in to your account and verify if the Cleared (C) status appears in the column. If this works, you’ll need to clear the browser's cache. By doing this, it’ll remove the history or built-up cache in your default browser, so you can start with a clean slate. You can also try switching to other supported browsers as an alternative.

Also, to restore the C for cleared transactions, you'll have to handle them one at a time as QuickBooks doesn't have a batch option for this. You can also reach out to your accountant as they have tools that can modify the status of your reconciled transactions in QuickBooks.

Additionally, you need to compare each transaction from your bank with the ones entered into QuickBooks. If everything matches, here are the articles on how to reconcile your bank and fix reconciliation issues:
