QB Payroll makes PIT/SDI payments as per schedule. Uploaded bank transaction shows the payment but does not match it to the entry made by QB payroll. How do I match them so I don't see double transactions for the same amount?

Let me guide you through the process of matching your payroll tax payments to the downloaded bank transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This way, you can keep your financial data accurate and payroll reports updated, Qualpro.

There are a few possible reasons why QBO cannot find any matches for your downloaded transaction. Here are the following:

  • The tax payment may have been cleared manually in the register.
  • The amounts or dates don’t match.
  • The bank account on the payment isn't the same as the bank where the match is located.
  • The payment has been reconciled.
  • The record is already matched to another transaction.

To learn more insights about matching bank transactions, check out this link: Tips for working in QuickBooks Online’s bank feeds: Matching transactions.

Also, we can still find a match when you select the Find other matches option. Then, use the filter feature to specify the transactions displayed in that section. You can refer to this article for a complete guideline in matching transactions in QBO: Match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

On the other hand, we have the option to exclude the downloaded transaction from the Banking page if the tax payment is manually cleared in your register. Then, reconcile the account when you're ready.
