Question

Why does QB Desktop not offer a way to completely turn off auto matching for bank feeds? We now have to pay an exorbitant subscription price, why can't we get this feature?!

It NEVER matches things correctly, and when I hit "not a match" it starts pulling up similar transacations, ALSO NOT CORRECT, and I have to sit there for like 30 minutes just hitting not a match until this stupid program finally gives up trying to find similar transactions.

Disabling the auto-match function for your bank transactions can give you more control over your entries, @1982kitty. I'll share clarification.

Currently, turning off this feature in QuickBooks Desktop is unavailable. The program is set to automatically match the downloaded transactions once it catches entries with similar values and information to your bank statements.

That said, I recommend sending feedback to our product developers to request the addition of this feature. Rest assured that we are bound to improve the program's capability to meet your business needs. Here's how:

  1. Click the Help menu and select Send Feedback Online.
  2. Choose Product Suggestion, then enter the details of your concern.
  3. Select Send Feedback and click Close Window.

Moreover, I'm adding these references to guide you on how to match and categorize bank transactions once this gets sorted out on your end:

I'll be looking forward to any queries you may have when managing bank transactions in your account. Just leave a reply below, so I can get you covered. Keep safe and have a good one!
