Let me provide a few information about linking multiple accounts in QuickBooks, Dzi.

Aside from keeping your cash safe from bank failures, being able to link multiple bank accounts provide you with streamlined system that makes budgeting and tracking expenditures easier.

Yes, you can definitely link more than one bank account with QuickBooks Online (QBO). If the transactions download to one account, connect only the parent account. If the transactions download to the individual accounts, connect the subaccounts and not the parent.

For American Express accounts, QuickBooks Online will automatically downloads transactions so you don't have to enter them manually. You can attach one American Express Business login to your QuickBooks company. But you can connect as many accounts as  you'd like.

If you have both personal and business American Express accounts, connect them one at a time. Follow the same steps for each of your American Express accounts.

On the other hand, you can add more accounts from your chart of accounts anytime you need to track other types of transactions.

To add a new account:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Chart of accounts.
  2. Select New. Depending on your account view, you’ll either see a panel labeled New account or New category. Select the option you see below for next steps.

Then create a new account in the New account or category panel. For more information, you can also check out this article for more information: Add An Account To Your Chart Of Accounts In QuickBooks Online.

Furthermore, learn how QuickBooks sends downloaded transactions to the For Review tab so you can categorise them. Go through this article to know more details: Categorise And Match Online Bank Transactions In QuickBooks Online.
