Delete payment account? I set up a petty cash account while practicing and I need to delete the payment accounts that are showing funds that do not really exist.

Currently, there is no option to delete an account. But you can make the account inactive in QuickBooks Online. Since transactions are showing in your petty cash account, QuickBooks will make a Journal entry to zero them out. Thus, they will remain in your record and will impact your reports.

Here's how to disconnect:

1. On the left pane, select Banking.
2. Tap the Banking tab.
3. Choose the tile for the bank account you want to disconnect.
4. Tap the pencil icon, and click Edit account info.
5. Tick the Disconnect this account on the save checkbox.
6. Hit Save and Close.

Another option is to purge your account if it is within 60 days from the start of your subscription. It is to delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online.

Here's how:

1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
2. Note: You must log in as an admin.
3. Go to the URL in your browser's address bar. change the address to https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany
4. To confirm, type Yes.
5. Click OK, then Wipe data.
