Question

Hello, I have been operating my company about 8 months now. I like to reset it and start from begining again without any data, how can I do that?

Hi there, Sombo.

I'd be glad to share some information on how and when the system allows us to delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

QuickBooks account must be less than 60 days so we can purge your company. Otherwise, resetting your file is no longer available. In your case, you would have to start a whole new subscription and enter all the information from scratch since we're unable to purge your QBO account due to the number of days you've been using the book.

Before that, you can follow these steps on to cancel your current account:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon.
  3. Select Account and Settings under Your Company.
  4. Click the Billing & Subscription tab.
  5. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel.
  6. Follow the on-screen instruction to completely cancel this account.

Once done, you can start a new company by signing up on this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/choose-country/. Then, below are the things that you can do:

  • Select your region.
  • Enter the required information such as user ID and password. You can use the same login credentials.

Lastly, you may want to explore this article. It's all about the lists of exporting data from your previous account to the new one: Moving your lists to your new QBO account

If you have other questions about it, please tap me on my shoulder. I'll help you further as soon as possible. Take care!

Thank you, how do I backup all the chat accounts that I have so the new one can import easily?

You may utilize a 3rd party migration tool.

@Sombo

As mentioned by SarahannC, you have to open a brand new QBO account.
