Question

Hello, we'd like to connect our bank accounts but it doesn't show in the dropdown. We are a Nigerian based business. How can this be rectified?

Glad to see you again here in the Community, @StephAnyam.

Allow me to provide insights regarding connecting bank accounts to QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks Online integrates with various financial institutions to connect bank accounts in the system. This way, transactions will be downloaded automatically.

However, if you're unable to see your bank account on the lists, this might be caused by the following reasons:

  • Your bank has multiple names on our list. Make sure you have selected the correct listing or have tried all possible links. Search by the banking sign-in URL to ensure you are using the correct listing.
  • Your bank does not connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs business accounts).
  • Your bank is not a participating financial institution.

To get this sorted out, you'll need to verify the details of your bank account, try to search for other listed versions of their name, or request support. This link attached will guide you on how to look up your bank when you connect it to online banking: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking.

Once you're ready to connect your account, you may follow the instructions found in these articles below together with the best things to do if transactions are not downloading in the system:

Lastly, after you've downloaded the bank entries, you may match and categorize them properly so you can reconcile your account smoothly.

I'll be around to help if there's anything else that you need. Take care!
