I was connected to the bank - the trouble is that it treats all debits and credits as debits.  So I wanted to revert to csv. When I tried to disconnect the link, I no longer see the bank at all on banking screen .

Hello there. Let me get the help you need with your bank transactions.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), once you import bank transactions via CSV file, the option to revert it is unavailable. You may need to exclude your transactions and import them again.

To guide you further with excluding bank entries, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the For Review tab.
  2. Mark the box next to each transaction you want to exclude.
  3. Select Exclude from the pop-up at the top.

Excluded transactions are then moved to the Excluded tab, and won’t be added to QuickBooks or downloaded again. To permanently delete duplicate entries, put a checkmark on them, then click Delete.

In addition, once you disconnect a connected bank account from your QBO account, the system deletes transactions that still need to be categorised in the For Review tab. And if the transactions are older than 90 days, you won't be able to download them into QuickBooks again.

As for your concern that you don't see the bank at all on the banking screen once you select the disconnect function, it means that your bank account has successfully been disconnected.

If you want to reconnect your bank, you can refer to these steps below:

  1. Go back to the Banking page.
  2. Click Connect Account or Add Account.
  3. Search for your bank and choose Continue once you've located it.
  4. Use the credentials you use to sign in to the bank's website.
  5. Select the accounts you'd like to connect and assign an appropriate account type.
  6. Choose the date range.
  7. Click Connect.
