Hi there, adriaan.

Let me provide the steps on how to do it. Beforehand, there are things we'll need to consider before performing it.

  • It will help you delete the data for a QuickBooks Online (QBO) company. If you need to delete all your Intuit data, find out more about managing data or check out the privacy center.
  • This doesn't cancel your QBO subscription. If you need to cancel, learn how to balance your QuickBooks Online.
  • Performing this will permanently damage the connections if you have banks or third-party apps connected to your company.
  • You can reuse your current lists after starting over, and learn more about moving your lists to a new file.

Moreover, if you're a new user you can simply start over. Know that there's a difference between resetting your account within or less than 90 days of signing up and more than 90 days of use.

Here's how to reset an account within a 90-day sign-up:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account. You must be logged in as an admin.
  2. Go to the URL in your browser's address bar. Delete all the text and enter the following web address instead: https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany
  3. To confirm you want to delete your company data, type Yes.
  4. Select OK, then Wipe data.

The steps below are how to reset it if you're using it for more than 90 days:

  1. Open a web browser on your computer, not a mobile device.
  2. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as the primary or company admin.
  3. Go to Settings and select Account and settings.
  4. Route to Billing & subscription.
  5. Select Cancel subscription or Cancel online. If you're canceling a trial, select Cancel your trial.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps.

After your account cancellation, all your data will be deleted within one year. This will allow you to think if you want to retrieve your account.
