I'm here to help you modify your opening balance, connectzain.

Let's sort the transactions to find your opening balance in the Account history.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Locate the account, then go to the Action column and select Account history.
  4. Find the opening balance entry. If you've got the Date column sorted from newest to oldest, the opening balance entry may be at the end of the list.
  5. Click the Date drop-down icon.
  6. Select the opening balance entry.
  7. Edit the amount.
  8. Select Save.

To ensure your QuickBooks accounts match with your real-life bank statements, I suggest checking this article for the detailed steps: Reconcile an Account.

QBO does not have an action called Account History.  What do you do with an incorrect starting bank balance that was imported by the Bank?

Thanks for joining the thread, @cly1022.

If the opening balance is incorrect, you can open the register to edit the amount. To do so, you can follow the steps provided by my colleague @

CharleneMae_F above.

If there isn't already an opening balance listed and you want to enter one, see this article: Enter an opening balance for an account in QuickBooks Online.
