Question

I use OPAY/PAYCOMdigital services and Providus bank for my transactions but I've not seen these options among the bank accounts listed. Please what do I do?

    Hello there, Augusta.

There are a few possible reasons why you can’t connect to the bank in QBO:

    • Your bank has multiple names on our list. Make sure you have selected the correct listing or have tried all possible links. You can search by the banking login URL to ensure you are using the correct listing.
    • Your bank does not connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs. business accounts).
    • Your bank is not a participating financial institution.

If you have confirmed the following information and still can't find your banks in the list, you can request that your bank be added to the program. We have an article you can refer to for additional information: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking.

In the meantime, you'll want to consider manually uploading your bank transactions using a CSV file in QuickBooks. First, download transactions from your bank by logging in to their website. Then, follow the given instructions on how you can download the file and save it to your desktop or anywhere you can easily find it. Once done, upload them to your books by following these steps:

    1. Go to the Transactions menu and select Bank Transactions.
    2. Click the Link Account dropdown and select Upload from file.
    3. Drag and drop or select the files, then choose the file you downloaded from your bank. Click Continue.
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to match the columns on the file with the correct fields, then select Continue.
    5. Choose the transactions you’d like to import and select Continue. After that, click Yes.
    6. Lastly, click Done.

You can use these articles as additional references in fixing bank upload errors if you encounter one: Fix bank upload errors in QuickBooks Online.

Afterward, categorize your transactions after importing them to put them in the correct category: Categorise online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
