Question

QB should never ask for your bank user/pass! Plus the account is protected by a token, so how is that useful anyway? How to get around this?

QB storing a person's bank login info is highly irregular and a severe security risk. I can't believe they consider this a valid way to integrate!

Let me share some insights about the security number in QuickBooks Online (QBO) while connecting a bank in your account, darryl-qb-flexma.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) solely depends on the data that's being asked by your bank when connecting your account. Most of the time, codes are needed to make sure that the person logging in is an authorized user. Also, the token is another level of security added to the password and username combo. Mostly, this happens for users who are connecting a business type of account to QuickBooks Online. In this case, we'll need to ask your bank.

On the other hand, some banks provide connections to QuickBooks per account type and each of them may have a different level of security. Where not all of them are available for online banking and this depends on what your bank provides. I would suggest trying all the links you see when you search your bank's name on the Banking page. If you notice that the login requirements are different from what you see on your bank's login page, it may not be the right connection for your account type.
