Welcome to the Community, @Vinit-Tolia. It's great to have you here, and thank you for bringing up your concern about linking your bank account to QuickBooks Online (QBO) and managing your bank transactions. Let me share detailed information on how the program handles these transactions to ensure accurate recording.

When you set up your company file in QuickBooks, the program automatically tailors your Chart of Accounts(COA) based on the type of business entity you have. By the time you link your bank account, the software automatically sets up the Cash and cash equivalents account as the default account and detailtype:

It is why you're seeing your downloaded bank transactions under that account. To address this, you may update the account and detail the type of that account to align with your associated bank.

Here's how:

  1. Open your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon and click on the Chart of accounts
  3. Look for the account that corresponds to your linked bank.
  4. Hit the drop-down arrow beside Account History.
  5. Select Edit.

You may check out the screenshot below for your visual reference:

Additionally, when you set up your company in QBO, default accounts are automatically created in your COA based on the type of business entity you choose. Please refer to the materials below to learn more:

When your bank transactions are ready, refer to this article to add or match the attachments to the existing entries in the program: Categorise online bank transactions in QBO.

I am committed to offering customized solutions to any issues you may have with linking your bank account and managing your bank transactions within QuickBooks, @Vinit-Tolia. Please reach out to me again if you have further questions about QBO's banking feature. I'd be delighted to answer them.
