Question

Why is it showing the wrong bank balance in QuickBooks under the banking tab and in the dashboard? In the balance sheet bank balance is correct.

I have reconciled till the last month. I tried deleting the previous history and tried to log in again but still shows the wrong balance. But the actual bank balance in QuickBooks balance sheet is correct

I'll help you fix this, fathima.

 

It could be that the stored temporary internet files in the browser are the root cause of this balance issue. To rule this out, you can try accessing your QBO account using a private or incognito window. Here are the shortcut keys:

 

  • Ctrl + Shift + N for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Firefox & Microsoft Edge
  • Command + Shift + N for Safari

If the balances are now accurate, go back to their regular browser and then, clear its cache to delete the accumulated junk files and start over fresh. You may also switch to other supported browsers to further isolate the issue.

It still shows the wrong balance even after doing as you said. I opened my QB a/c in the incognito window clicked on the update & reconnect your account button. But still shows the wrong balance.

See the difference.. But in the balance sheet it shows the correct bank balance.

Allow me to chime in and share some information about incorrect bank balance in Quickbooks Online (QBO). 

 

If your financial institution is connected, you will unlikely see the bank balance and QuickBooks balance match. Our program is dependent on what your bank shares. That said, bank balance is updated from time to time.

 

I also suggest contacting our Support Team, to further investigate your concern and to make sure your books are in order. To reach them, follow these steps:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (?) at the top right.
  3. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.
  4. Select Contact Us to connect with a live support agent.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us:
    • Start a chat with a support expert.
    • Get a callback from the next available expert.
