IF A SALARIED EMPLOYEE STARTS WORK THE SECOND WEEK OF THE MONTH AND THEY ARE PAID 2 TIMES PER MONTH HOW ARE THEY PAID FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE MONTH. I PAID THEM AN HOURLY RATE FROM THEIR START DATE TO THE 14TH OF THE MONTH (THE FIRST HALF OF THE SALARY PAY) WHICH WAS 24 HOURS. SHOULD I PAY THEM HOURLY FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE MONTH OR USE THE SALARY AMOUNT FOR THAT SECOND HALF?

Hi @dommydom - welcome to QB Community!

Since it your new employee started after the 1st of the month it certainly makes sense to prorate the first pay period by hour.  Now that your employee will have worked a full pay period, is there an argument against paying it as salary?

If you pay your employees twice a month - typically on the 1st and 15th, I think that is called semi-monthly. I think bi-monthly is every two months.
