Business Website Basics
Good afternoon, Community friends! As a consumer one of the first things I do when I discover a new business is look for their website. You may be surprised that not many small business have an actual site to visit. Do you have a website for your business? If not, here are a few ideas to get you started...
Your Story
Connecting with your loyal and potential customers is huge. One thing to include on your business website is an "Our Story" section that explains who you are and what you do. This section is a great way to tell your followers more about yourself which is a great way to increase personal connection.
Clear Language
There's nothing much more frustrating than finding something you'd like to purchase but no info regarding price, how to pay, and means to complete the transaction. When building your website be sure to use clear, informative language that tells your customers exactly what to do to make a purchase.
Photos
Pictures on your business's website are a must. Pictures of you, of your product, of just the product, and of other people wearing or using your product. All of the above. Photos show your audience you, the face behind the name, and the others show how to use or wear what you're selling. Take the time to make sure you have great lighting, not too much going on in the picture, as well as a good quality photograph.
Reviews
You may have seen me talk about reviews before, and that's because they work! Make sure you include a designated area for reviews and testimonials so new customers can see what others are saying about your business.
Contact
Last but not least, your website should include as many channels as possible for people to get in touch with you. You'd hate to miss a sell due to someone not being able to reach you. Link your social media platforms, email address, business address, and business phone.
A small business website doesn't have to be elaborate, but it does need to be effective. These are just a few basic ideas for what to show your client base. Let's hear from you - what else would you include? Have you customers made comments about your website; if so what do they intrigued them about it? Take care, friends!
