Hello, friends! I hope your day is productive and your coffee strong. :) Here in the Community we always focus on you, our customers, and try to help you as much as we can in your business. Whether it’s how to market yourself, or goal setting, we know that success trickles down from the top.

Today, I want to focus on self-care, but this time we’re looking at how you can promote this practice to your employees. Happy and rested employees are one key to a successful business. Let’s look at some simple ideas that you can start now!

Lunch Breaks
I know this is pretty basic, but are your employees taking a true lunch break? Do some of them work through their lunch if they feel behind? Opening up this conversation with your workers during meetings or 1 on 1s is a great way to gauge whether their lunch break is being used as it is intended. Having a mental break is essential to having a good day at work.

Active Meetings
Who says that meetings have to be in a room with everyone sitting down? Meet at a local park and walk around. You can even meet at work and walk to a local coffee shop and back. Getting outside while also relaying important information to your employees is a win-win situation. Fresh air does the mind and body good.

Recognize Star Players
Employee of the Month may not seem important, but recognizing employees going above and beyond, or ones that have significantly improved, is good for morale. It motivates employees and gives them a goal to reach for. You can make them a certificate, treat them to lunch, or any number of small gestures to let them know you appreciate their work.

If you haven’t implemented self-care for yourself yet, start there! Or take this journey along with your employees. Prioritizing this is important to prevent burnout and overall have a better work environment. Comment below if you have more suggestions or share what is working for you!
