Maintenance
Happy Friday, and I hope you guys are having a fantastic day! Today, I want to take a step back from our "business-focused" Friday posts. I found this gem from Travel Awaits, about five things this 97-year-old does daily to maintain his health. And I believe we can take a page from his chapter and apply it in our life.
Just a little back story Wilbur Hudson grew up on a little farm and served in WW2, Vietnam, and the Korean wars. He became an engineer later on in life and retired with many patents to his name.
Firstly, he keeps a schedule. The saying goes, "the early bird gets the early worm," and this is what he lives by. He gets up early to get a head start for the day's activities. He explained that it puts you in control. And even by the end of the day, he has a schedule of when it is time to wind down and go to sleep.
Secondly, he shares physical courage! As we get older, our knees and so forth may not be at 100% despite staying active and exercising. What he encourages us to do is move or work beyond the pain.
Thirdly, he explains about eating for nutrition. He mentions his regimen for his daily intake, but he encourages us to take stock of this because this is an essential part too!
Fourthly, he urges us to stay hydrated! He shares that he drinks close to 64 ounces of water a day. And this has aided in his living. Hudson even mentioned that on some days, he would add a rootbeer float or iced tea, so make some exceptions at times too!
Fifthly, he presses to know your number! Knowing your cholesterol, blood sugar, weight, and so on can help detect any issues so you can promote healthier lifestyle choices. If something is off or too high, you can then make adjustments.
Can you see yourself applying these five things? Perhaps you have some to add? Feel free to share below! And thank you for being a part of the Community, and enjoy your weekend. Until next time!
