Hi Everyone!

I thought it was time to join the quickbook family and so here I am! I am fairly new to quickbooks and have started to enter in my business information and with that I have some questions. I have 2 registered businesses where I am a vendor at a boutique shop selling my refinished furniture and wholesale items. How and where do to I enter/record my paychecks into quickbooks as income?

    Hello TTGM!

Welcome to the family! I am so happy that you have entrusted us with your business, and I will be more than happy to share some information. To answer your questions, income isn't entered with payroll. However, it is tracked with transactions that would typically have income accounts tied to them, like payments on invoices or sales receipts. Now you have two ways to receive this. It could either be by invoice payments or sales receipts. Invoices are created when your customer agrees to pay you later, but you can set your terms for that, whereas sales receipts are used when your customer pays you on the spot for goods or services. There are various ways to record this in QuickBooks Online and Quickbooks Desktop. I will be sharing both since it wasn't mentioned which service you are using.
