QUESTION: How Did You Choose Your Business Name?

I have a friend named Khaki. When she started mixing an all-natural skin care product in her kitchen a few years ago, she called it Khaki's Bomb Balm. Catchy, right? But when she expanded, she called her new line of products Face/Food Natural Skincare. I don't know how she came up with the particular name (I always thought "Khaki's Bomb Balm" was pretty awesome) but now that I think of it I should probably ask her!

 

In the meantime, I'd like to ask you: How did you come up with the name for your business? In your opinion, is it most important for a business name to be catchy? Meaningful? Easy to remember?

      In 1993 I was working on completing my degree in graphic design. With a passion for typography, I grabbed the domain name type26.com (26 letters of the alphabet). In 1993 the options for website design were pretty limited, but I taught myself Flash and built a website. 

       

      My career path deviated from design over the years. I learned every possible form of marketing possible. As I moved around in different roles, I realized I loved establishing or optimizing roles, departments, or processes. So I decided to start a digital agency.  

       

      I always maintained the Type 26 domain, used the email address, so I kept the name; just changed its mission. 

       

      The original logo was made up of non-traditional letters: a plus sign, an upside down "d" for the "P" and a reversed "3" for the "E".  I refreshed the logo with a new color and tweaks to typography.

        Business Name is more beneficial if that is relate to your business. Make a list of Business Names they should be relate to your business, which service and product your are offering to your customers. When the business name is related to your services and products that easily to understand by the users.
