Hello there, Irfch.

In QuickBooks we're able to only scan receipts. These scanned receipts will have a pending status for approximately 24 hours as QuickBooks searches for a possible match within your account. If it's unable to find a match or there are multiple possible matches, you will find a Needs Action notification with appear on the screen.

If you're referring to adding an invoice as an attachment file, yes, it'll automatically be read and saved in the transaction.

Hi Catherine_B,

Thank you for your reply.
Can you please guide me how to add the supplier invoice as an attachment so it can be automatically read by Quickbooks and a bill is created.

Thanks.

I appreciate the quick response, Irfch.

You can manually add attachments to the Bill in QuickBooks Online (QBO). However we're unable to automatically read it to match a bill create.

  1. Go to the + New icon.
  2. Under Suppliers, choose Bill.
  3. Fill in the necessary information and click Attachments at the bottom part on the bill.
  4. Click Save and close.

All you need to learn about managing attachments and acceptable file types can be found in this article: Attachments in QuickBooks Online.

For now, I encourage you to visit  our QBO UK product updates page for details on when the feature becomes available.
