Question

Customers have disappeared from my customer list. If I try to add them again, I get an error message saying customer already exists. Help ?

There are times when QuickBooks online is poorly configured. There's a possibility that there was a glitch. In the meantime, I suggest using a private window that doesn't store files. Browsers use cache and cookies to load web pages faster.

 

To open an incognito window, you can refer to these keyboard shortcuts:

 

  • Google Chrome: Press Crtl+Shift+P
  • Microsoft Edge & Mozilla Firefox: Crtl+Shift+N
  • Safari: Press Command+Shift+N

 

If you still have the same result, I suggest utilizing another supported browser. It will help us identify if the issue is specific to your current browser.

 

If you can now see your customer list, consider returning to your regular browser and clearing its cache and cookies.

 

However, if this issue persists, I suggest contacting our support, as they have a secure environment to check and investigate this error you're experiencing. Follow these steps:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. On the upper corner, click Help (?).
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Choose a way to connect with us.
  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a callback from the next available expert.
