How do I match bank transactions with bill payments? Quickbooks can't identify despite the same date, amount, payee. Payments recorded twice if I just Add.

If it can not find a match and it would be a case of excluding the transaction. Do not add as you would end up with a duplicate.Are this transactions older than  the past 3 months?If you click on the line of the transaction and use the find a match option does it find them?
