Let's sort this out, @sarah bell.

I can help share information on how to add the transactions coming from your personal business account.

First, you'll want to create a petty cash account to pay small expenses and track it in QuickBooks. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear ⚙ and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select New.
  3. From the Account Type drop-down▼, choose Bank.
  4. From the Detail Type drop-down▼, choose Cash on hand.
  5. Enter Petty Cash for the account name.
  6. The opening balance will be shown once you move money from the checking account.
  7. Hit Save and Close.

Then, we can create an expense and bill this expense to a specific customer:

  1. Go to the New ⨁.
  2. Select Expense.
  3. Enter the necessary information and description of the expense.
  4. Enter the amount and check the Billable box.
  5. Select the name of the customer.
  6. Hit Save and close or Save and new.

Lastly, create a Bank transfer to pay back the Personal bank (petty cash):

  1. Go the New ⨁ in the left panel.
  2. Under Other, select Transfer.
  3. From the Transfer Funds From the drop-down list, select the bank account that the funds are coming out of.
  4. From the Transfer, Funds To drop-down list, select the bank account the funds are being deposited into.
  5. In the Transfer Amount field, enter the amount being transferred.
  6. Edit the Date.
  7. Select Save and close or Save and new.

Once done the funds will be transferred to the specified account and be shown in the bank register.

For more information, about the steps I've provided above you refer to these articles:

Although it happens that we mix business and personal funds. When you reimburse personal expenses, you can record it as a cheque or an expense.
