Question

How do I delete duplicate bills with the same number without deleting one that I need to keep? When I save a bill after making an edit, QB created another identical one

When I delete one of the duplicate bills, all of the bills are deleted. Saving multiple changes results in multiple identical bills. This is a frustrating flaw in QB online.

Hi there, Ryan. Let's work together to resolve this matter as soon as possible.

Deleting a duplicate bill should not delete the other bills, but if the issue persist, we might have to do basic troubleshooting steps on your browser.

For now, please ensure that your internet connection is stable. Log out of your account, close the browser, and log back in.

If the problem continues, we can access your account through an incognito window to eliminate the possibility of a webpage issue. Below are the following keyboard shortcuts:

    • Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge: Ctrl+ Shift + N
    • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
    • Safari: Command + Option + P

If the process is successful, return to your standard browser. Then, clear your cache to ensure a fresh start. Then log back into your QBO account and try to delete the duplicated bills again. Should the problem persist, switch to other supported browsers installed on your system.

Moreover, you can run bill reports in QuickBooks online to help you track your cash flow and business performance.

I'll always be here, ready to help you resolve any bill concerns in QuickBooks. Have a good one, and stay safe.

I don't think even QB Online, lame as it is, will do that.

    Questions:

    -  Where do you see the duplicate bills, where deleting one deletes the other? For example, in a report? An account register?

    - Are you sure you're not seeing the same bill listed more than once? Perhaps you're seeing one or more of its detail lines?
