QuickBooks Online bank reconciliation report

One thing that bothers me about QBO is that we cannot print a reconciliation report reflecting what we need as accountants.

I'm glad that it has "hide additional information", however, doing so also hides outstanding items.  If there is a back reconciliation that has any outstanding checks, I have to also include transactions after the month end.

For example,

Bank statement ending date: 9/30/2024

Period ending date: 9/30/2024

Statement beginning balance   125,000.00

Service charge   -529.59

Checks and payments cleared (57)   -834,515.60

Deposits and other credits cleared (325)   835,045.19

Statement ending balance   125,000.00

Uncleared transactions as of 09/30/2024   -7,378.23

Register balance as of 09/30/2024   117,621.77

Cleared transactions after 09/30/2024   0.00

Uncleared transactions after 09/30/2024   1,084,887.36

Register balance as of 11/03/2024   1,202,509.13

If I click "hide additional information", it will not show the list of outstanding checks.  This is important information to have.

The transactions after 9/30/2024 do not matter to me.  The register balance as of today is irrelevant.

We would ALL like to have the option to select the "as of" date.

Statement ending balance   125,000.00

Uncleared transactions as of 09/30/2024   -7,378.23

Register balance as of 09/30/2024   117,621.77

Cleared transactions after 09/30/2024   0.00

Uncleared transactions after 09/30/2024   1,084,887.36  0.00

Register balance as of 11/03/2024 09/30/2024  1,202,509.13 117,621.77

---

Using an example that has a statement date different than month end might be helpful.

In the above situation, there was one check on 9/29/2024 for $625.  If the back statement ending date was 09/28/2024, it would be great to see the following:

Statement date [09/28/2024]           As of [09/30/2024]     [x] Hide additional information after report date

Statement ending balance   125,000.00

Uncleared transactions as of 09/30/2024  09/28/2024   -7,378.23     -6,753.23

Register balance as of 09/30/2024  09/28/2024  117,621.77    118,246.77

Cleared transactions after 09/30/2024 09/28/2024   0.00

Uncleared transactions after 09/30/2024 09/28/2024  1,084,887.36     -625.00

Register balance as of 11/03/2024 09/30/2024  1,202,509.13 117,621.77

*Additional Information

*Uncleared transactions after 09/30/2024  1,084,887.36

*Register balance as of 11/03/2024 1,202,509.13

*This part of the summary doesn't appear if the "hide additional information" box is checked.

As the system is currently, my 9/30/2024 account reconciliation report is 15 pages.  The relevant information ends on page 7, but I had to print the report with the additional information so that the list of outstanding checks could be seen. Once I print it to PDF, I use a PDF tool to cross out the lines for "after the statement date" and make a box to white out the detail on the bottom of page 7 (where it starts listing transactions dated 10/1 and later).

Anyone else that supports this kind of option for bank reconciliation reports?

Marking the Hide additional information checkbox removes the uncleared cheques, payments, deposits, and other credits after the statement ending date, Jul.
