Question

Why did Quickbooks hike my subscription without a warning?

A few days ago, I saw my susbcription was about to auto-renew, at $320/yr. Today my card was billed $378 + tax. I received no communication about this rate increase. It is disingenuous to have one rate listed and then without warning charge a different rate. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there an explanation for QB to act in such an unreliable way?

QuickBooks Online automatically renews your account on the expected next charge date specified on the Subscriptions and billing, hvamy.

Before the renewal date, the system will send you a reminder through the registered email address on your Intuit account.

  1. Log in to your QBO account: https://qbo.intuit.com/.
  2. Click the initial letter in the upper-right corner and select Manage your Intuit Account.
  3. Go to Sign in & Security and review the nominated Email address.
  4. Open email provider and look for the renewal email. You can check the Spam folder if necessary.

Based on the amounts you've mentioned, it is possible that you have availed a promo the time you have subscribed to QuickBooks Online, This is usually a one time promo, thus you'll be charged with the regular rate upon your renewal.

To get the exact details of the charges, I'd recommend contacting our support. They can pull up and review your account. From there, they can properly explain the exact reason of the new charge amount of your subscription. The steps to reach them may vary a little depending on how you interact with the QB Assistant. If you have questions with the renewal process, you can also ask them to our support. As you're at it, you can also visit the Frequently asked questions section of this article: Resubscribe to or reactivate QuickBooks Online.
