Hi userthecakeshop1200,

Glad to learn you're using QuickBooks to manage your employees! The program makes it simple to keep track of your transactions and stay organized with your work. I'd be happy to steer you in the right direction with this.

Based on what you've described, I'd recommend checking with your employees to see if they've provided the correct SIN numbers. If they're both correct, I'd recommend reaching out to the Canada Revenue Agency for more info on the next best steps. Otherwise, if you need help with entering an employee in QuickBooks, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Employees/Payroll.
  2. Select Add new employee to get started.
  3. Enter the First Name and Last Name.
  4. Select if they are an Employee or Contractor.
  5. You are also asked Have you paid this employee or contractor this year)?
  6. Select Yes or No.

After selecting Yes, you'll see other areas where you can fill in the employee's address and other info. This article here walks you through the info you'd need to fill in in order to add an employee.

Let me know if you have other questions. I've got your back.
