Question

Am I able to reenter my payroll historically? I had to restart my company, and my payroll is still messed up. I need to enter transactions from Jan to current

Hi usernewfiesnackshack,

Thank you for reaching out to Community!  Ensuring that your payroll calculations are accurate is essential for T4's and remittance payments. Based on the information you've provided it appears you may have cleared your company data by purging the account, for which payroll wouldn't have been included in the process.  This is because QuickBooks Online Payroll is an add on feature.  In this situation you'll have two ways of getting your payroll back on track and up to date.  I'd be happy to provide both for you!

If you've paid your employees with paper cheque you can delete them and re-run payroll to ensure they're calculated accordingly.  You'll need to work backwards from the most recent cheque until you get to the one you need.

Here's how to delete pay cheques:

1. From the left menu select Payroll and then Employees

2. Under the Run payroll button, click Pay cheque list

3. Select the cheque(s) and hit Delete

4. Choose Yes or No when prompted to confirm the action

You're ready to recreate the pay cheques in sequence and the taxes and forms will be automatically recalculated for you.

If you've paid your employees with direct deposit you'll need to contact us for additional assistance on our end.  We'd be happy to take care of this for you!
