Question

Can I add two employees at the same address? When I add the second employee, the TD-1 form says that the City, Province, and Postal Code don't match.

Hello nfnoseworth,

I appreciate you letting me know the error you're running into when trying to enter the address for an employee in QuickBooks Online. Knowing the exact error you're encountering can be a useful tool for knowing how to approach and troubleshoot a situation. I'd be happy to help you with this.

While a name can only be used once in QuickBooks, addresses can be used however many times you need them. I'm glad to hear that you were able to set up one employee with the address information and can see how it would be confusing to then have the program not accept it the second time around.

We've had other users report this same error when using Standard Payroll with QuickBooks Online. It's something that our engineering team is actively looking into and, if you'd like, you can be added to the list of impacted users. Doing this will alert the team that you're also running into this issue in your QuickBooks and give you the opportunity to receive email updates from the team should any be sent out.

Adding you to that list means collecting a few account details. With the Community being a public forum, it's not designed for that kind of exchange of information and I recommend using one of the options below to contact our support team.

Schedule a Callback or Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat. Support is available from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET.

Social MediaFacebookTwitter, and Instagram.

The agent may also take you through some troubleshooting steps to see if that gets you back in business more quickly, but will be able to add you to that list if needed.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
