Can I change the default payroll accounts QBO sets up to my own i set up previously?

We only started using payroll in April and I already had a Salaries and Benefits ledger account.  Can I have the automatic entries done by payroll go to my original account?

Thanks for reaching out here.  QuickBooks Online Payroll provides the flexibility you need to make necessary changes to your associated accounts.  I'd be happy to assist!

 

Here's how to change the default payroll accounts;

 

1. Open Settings ⚙ in the top right of your QuickBooks Online dashboard

2. Select Payroll Settings

3. Scroll down and select the Edit ✎ to the right of the Accounting section

4. Use the ▼ dropdown menu to select the Bank account

5. When finished, hit OK
