Can i re-add a employee to payroll that i deleted by accident

i had added a employee to my payroll and deleted the employee. now I'm trying to re-add the same employer and its not letting me and it says they someone with the same sin number already exist

Welcome to Community!  QuickBooks Online is a dynamic program with the versatility you need when situations like this arise.  I'd be happy to assist!

 

Although you can't delete an employee, you can make them inactive.  When you need to ensure they're listed on QuickBooks Online Payroll, so you can pay them on time, you just need to make them active again.  Here's how;

 

1. Open Payroll from the left menu and then Employees

2. Select Inactive employees from the drop-down menu next to the search bar on the Employee list

3. Click on the inactive employee, then select Edit employee

4. Select Employment at the top of the page

5. Change their status to Active

That's it!
