Can you add a global pay type setting so that when setting up an employee all proper pay types auto select without having to do it each time a new person is hired?

We would like to automate employee setup as much as possible to prevent human mistakes.

Thanks for reaching out to us here. QuickBooks Online Payroll is a great tool to have, it allows you to set up specific information for each employee. It's important that your employees are set up correctly in QuickBooks Online so that they can get paid the right amount of hours they have worked. I can provide some information about setting up pay types for your employees.

 

In QuickBooks Online Payroll, there isn't option to automate pay type for all your employees, the only option there is at the moment is to set up pay types for each employee separately. I can see how being able to apply this new pay type to all employees would save time with payroll management. I recommend leaving feedback by navigating to the Gear icon and then selecting Feedback. Our engineers consider these comments when they are developing new features for QuickBooks Online.
